With the Lions unbeaten for 4 consecutive games, they faced a strong challenge against Shane FC, currently in third.

In the first half, Lions dominated the game. From the left side Nils, Noki, Torsten and Kaz passed well and then delivered a long ball to Jorge on the right side. Jorge’s quickness caused Shane’s defenders trouble and they could not stop Jorge without resorting to fouls. The first chance came from the corner kick, with Torsten hitting the post with a shot. Then, striker Charles has a good chance to score, however Shane’s goalkeeper blocked his shot from short distance of the goal. After that, the concentration of the Lions was intense, taking several shots and creating multiple chances to score.

In the second half, Shane FC started attacking using the whole pitch and using individual skill. They hit the post and created further opportunities to score but our new goalkeeper Yu saved these chances. After patiently defending, Lions won a free kick just outside the penalty area. Nils scored a beautiful free kick with his surefire left foot.

The Adecco BEFC MVP Award goes to Yu. He showed his outstanding skills and ability in this game. For example, he was proactive, effectively nullifying the threat of any one-on-one situations. Yu could read the game, moving outside his penalty area to clear the ball. Yu responded quickly to all threats, saving a ball even at the edge of the penalty area. His passing was fantastic, with accurate passes and long balls helping the Lions to initiate attacks.
