BEFC Ladies Football Club seeks to kick off!

  • BEFC Ladies Football Soccer Club Tokyo Japan

BEFC are forming a Ladies Football Club led by Natalie Guerrero and Teresa Iniesta. To begin with we're looking to organise futsal sized women only sessions to establish a regular player pool. Then when we have enough players the club will look into joining competitions, arrange friendlies and increase to 7s and maybe even get an 11s team.

Finding a ladies football club for non-Japanese speaking women in the Tokyo area is difficult. There are some women's leagues in Tokyo, but they are hard to enter unless you have an established team and there are restrictions. Language barriers are other obvious difficulties for individuals trying to find and join local teams.

We've heard from a number of women in the international community who have had trouble finding a place to just play football. A difficult part of playing football in any form in Tokyo is getting use of playing grounds. As a club we collectively have more ability to get and reserve pitches for sessions and matches making football more accessible.

BEFC is open to all players, with regular futsal sessions and competitive 11s for anyone playing at the general level.
Female members can join in these activities if they wish but the Ladies club is forming to provide a team to play in and with other women, eventually taking part in the women's competitions and a league.

As with all our other teams BEFC welcomes players of all occupations and nationalities as members so if you are interested in joining or helping form the Ladies Football Club please contact the club.
